As stated in my previous post, I think God expects us to keep the Sabbath and the Holy Days: https://friendswithgod.substack.com/p/gods-timetable-the-appointed-days

Spiritual Israel are those that keep the commandments of God and have the Testimony Of Jesus Christ Rev 12:17

If you continue to read these posts you will see that the church is spiritual Israel, no new religion, no new rules, but a different covenant with Christ as the example that we must follow.

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

(Gal 3:26-29)

Hi Chantel

Thanks for reading and commenting on this post.

Are you referring to the New Covenant with the House of Judah and the House of Israel mentioned in Heb 8:8-10, which quotes from Jer 31:31-34?

It is a bit confusing if this New Covenant is the same as the New Covenant that Christ made with the Church when he said: “This cup is the New Testament (covenant) in my blood, which is shed for you.” Matt 26:17-29, Mark 14:24, Luke 22:20

This Covenant is not restricted to Israel, but is for all flesh, as Peter said on the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2:17: "I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh:", quoting from Joel 2:28-32.

The New Covenant incorporates both Israel and gentiles: "Then Peter opened his mouth and said, Truly I see that God is no respecter of persons; but in every nation (gentile) he who fears Him and works righteousness is accepted with Him. (Acts 10:34-35)

I hope that answers your question? More on the spiritual nature of the New Covenant can be found in this post: https://friendswithgod.substack.com/p/the-bread-and-wine

There are some significant differences between the Israelite covenant and the Christian covenant, but they are not totally exclusive of each other, as will be explained in future posts in this series.
